The Crane Lane Theatre is a late bar and live music venue on Phoenix Street, a narrow lane off Pembroke Street in Cork city centre. It is built in a 1920s art deco style, in what was once an old gentleman’s club, and it is one of the Cork Heritage Pubs.
Inside there are three bars, a theatre room for gigs and a big courtyard beer garden that it shares with Arthur Mayne’s Pharmacy. There is live music or a DJ seven nights a week, and it is one of the busiest places in the city after midnight.

The Bars at Crane Lane
The Stage Door is a stout drinker’s bar by day and a busier, chattier spot at night, and it serves the courtyard. The Crystal Room, also called the Crystal Bar or craft bar, has a 1920s feel, vintage turntables and craft beer from Cork’s Rising Sons brewery, with house DJs playing indie, rock, jazz, swing and funk. The courtyard beer garden is the heart of the place, a mix of locals, visitors and smokers, and food from Arthur Mayne’s is served out there.
Live Music and Weekly Nights
The theatre room hosts bands most nights, from ska and rock to jazz and soul, and many gigs are free. Crane Lane is a regular venue during the Cork Jazz Festival. A weekly favourite is Céilí by the Lee, an Irish dancing night for beginners with no partner needed. See what’s on in Cork this week for gigs here.
