Disco Pigs at The Everyman, Cork

Disco Pigs is back where it started. Enda Walsh’s play premiered in Cork in 1996 and launched the careers of Walsh, Cillian Murphy and Eileen Walsh. Thirty years on, The Everyman on MacCurtain Street is staging it again, and for the first time Walsh is directing it himself.

Pig and Runt are two Cork teenagers who share a birthday and a private language all of their own. As adulthood closes in, the world they have built between them starts to come apart. Séamus McLean Ross plays Pig and Aoise Meaney plays Runt.

The run is on now until Saturday 14 November, with shows at 8pm and a 2.30pm matinee on the final Saturday. That matinee is also the Irish Sign Language performance. There is an audio described show with a touch tour on Wednesday 11 November and a post-show discussion on Thursday 12 November.

Tickets start from €19 Tuesday to Thursday and €21 Friday to Sunday. The show runs about 1 hour 25 minutes with no interval and is recommended for ages 15 and up, with strong language, adult themes, loud music and strobe lighting.
