THROWING SHAPES
THROWING SHAPES marks the debut collaboration of Méabh McKenna, Ross Chaney, and Gareth Quinn Redmond. At the heart of the trio’s sound is the distinctive resonance of the Irish wire-strung harp, with the trio blending intricate instrumental textures with experimental electronic arrangements. The result is an immersive and dynamic soundscape that feels both grounded and exploratory.
Their debut single, CHOSEN TALK, drops on June 27th, coinciding with the announcement of their first album, set for release on September 5th via Swiss label WRWTFWW Records. The album will be available as a limited-edition vinyl, with only 300 copies being pressed. Pre-orders will be available through the label’s Bandcamp on the same day as the single release.
FIXITY
FIXITY is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist and composer Dan Walsh, founded in 2015. The project revolves around the concept of the impossibility of repetition, with the music manifesting in both solo and ensemble performances, featuring collaborations from Ireland and beyond.
In December 2016, FIXITY released their debut double LP, The Things In The Room, on Penske Recordings, recorded in one night at the renowned Tambourine Studios in Malmo, Sweden. It featured saxophonist Emil Nerstrand, guitarist Nils Andersson, and Fredrik Persson.
Their second album, No Man Can Tell, came out in 2019, also on Penske Recordings. Produced with Patrick Cullen of The Altered Hours, this album presented Walsh’s ambitious compositions, with a wider ensemble of Irish and international musicians taking a progressive approach to the material.
To date, FIXITY has released 11 individual works, including a series of self-produced, limited-edition mini-albums. Since the release of FIXITY8 in 2024, Dan Walsh has collaborated with artists like The Bonk, Junior Brother, Naive Ted, and Elaine Howley, while also embarking on a solo European tour in February 2023 across five countries.
The next chapter for FIXITY is already underway, with new large-scale ensemble projects in the works for this year.
