After wrapping up her final headline show in Europe last week, following over a year of globe-trotting tours, Naarm/Melbourne-based singer and musician Angie McMahon (she/her) drops Light Sides today — a five-track EP that complements her highly praised album Light, Dark, Light Again. Angie has also been confirmed as the support act for Hozier at two sold-out Summersalt shows in Victoria and New South Wales this November, a reunion following their 2019 U.S. tour.
Light Sides is the perfect companion to Light, Dark, Light Again, featuring five heartfelt yet expansive tracks, including the previously released ‘Just Like North’ and her latest single, ‘Untangling’. Angie shares, “Light Sides is a collection of songs that exist alongside Light, Dark, Light Again. They were created during the same period and share a similar vibe. While they didn’t quite fit into the album, I wasn’t sure if they would ever see the light of day. But it feels right to complete this chapter by sharing these songs with you. Thank you for welcoming the album into your lives and embracing its world. I hope these extra songs add a bit more depth and colour to the story.”
