About the Gealán Quartet:
Formed in the Spring of 2021, the Gealán Quartet is a group of Ireland’s most promising young musicians, hailing from Cork, Dublin, and Wicklow. Since their successful debut Irish tour through the National String Quartet Foundation and residency at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris, they have continued to impress with their dynamic performances. Their residency in Paris in 2022 further cemented their place in the chamber music world, showing off their deep musical synergy and ability to create intimate, yet passionate performances.
The quartet has performed a wide range of repertoire, including works by Fanny Mendelssohn, Mozart, Dvořák, Schumann, Shostakovich, and Michael Doherty, the latter having composed his highly praised No. 3 String Quartet for the Gealán Quartet’s 2023 tour.

Paul Grennan – Cello
Hailing from County Wicklow, Paul Grennan has performed across Europe, Asia, and the U.S., working with esteemed orchestras such as the BBC Philharmonic and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also appeared as a soloist at major festivals and collaborated with renowned composers.
