Born Edmond Enright in Birr, County Offaly, Mundy emerged from the vibrant Dublin busking scene in the mid-1990s to become one of Ireland’s most respected singer-songwriters. His debut album, Jelly Legs (1996), featured “To You I Bestow,” which gained global exposure on the Romeo + Juliet soundtrack.
After parting ways with his first label, Mundy founded Camcor Records and released 24 Star Hotel (2002). The album, with standout tracks like “July” and “Mexico,” became a triple-platinum success in Ireland. His follow-up, Raining Down Arrows (2004), debuted at number one and also went platinum. The live album Live & Confusion (2006) features his iconic rendition of “Galway Girl” with Sharon Shannon, which became a chart-topping download hit.
In recent years, Mundy has continued to write, record, and tour internationally. His latest releases include the single “Childish Heart” (2024) and “Underneath Vesuvius” (2023), showcasing the heartfelt lyrics and melodic warmth that have become his trademark.
