Josh Tillman is set to mark the release of his sixth Father John Misty album, Mahashmashana, a project he co-produced with Drew Erickson and executive produced by Jonathan Wilson. The album dropped in November 2024 via Bella Union (UK) and Sub Pop internationally.
Mahashmashana spans eight tracks over 50 minutes and includes singles like I Guess Time Makes Fools of Us All, She Cleans Up, Screamland, and Josh Tillman and The Accidental Dose. The latter two tracks were mixed by BJ Burton.
Father John Misty celebrated the album with a sold-out performance at London’s Hammersmith Apollo in early 2023. He also returned a few months later to pay tribute to Scott Walker at the Barbican, where he was accompanied by Jules Buckley and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. That summer, he graced the stage of Hyde Park as a special guest for Lana Del Rey’s performance.
