Is 2 days enough in Cork?

On this page

Two days is enough to see Cork city properly and fit in one day trip. Spend the first day in the city centre and use the second for Cobh, Kinsale or Blarney.

Day one: the city

Start at the English Market for breakfast or coffee, walk up to Shandon to ring the bells at St Anne’s Church, then cross back over the river to St Fin Barre’s Cathedral and Elizabeth Fort. Finish the afternoon in Fitzgerald Park or the UCC Quad, then head to Oliver Plunkett Street for food and a pint. Our Cork pubs guide will help you pick a spot.

Day two: a day trip

  • Cobh: about 25 minutes by train from Kent Station, with the Titanic story and the ferry to Spike Island.
  • Kinsale: a colourful harbour town known for seafood, about 40 minutes by road.
  • Blarney: the castle and gardens are a short bus ride north of the city.

With three days you can do two of these at a gentler pace.
