The Watermelons are a 4 piece blues band based in Cork. With a line up, consisting of drums, bass , guitar and sax, the band boasts some of corks finest musicians. The set journeys from chicago blues to blues rock containing blistering tracks from Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf , The Allman Brothers, Junior Wells , Fleetwood Mac, Jimi Hendric etc. Expect many wailing guitar and sax solos driven by a formidable rhythm section.

Upstairs at The Oliver Plunkett at The Frisky Irish Whiskey Bar we have ‘Acoustra’. A Limerick based band who have been writing and performing together for the past 8 years. Along with doing their own unique cover versions they also write their own original material. Rock/Folk/Trad fusion would be a good way to describe them.
