Iconic Cork Venue Clancy’s Reopens with Four-Floor Makeover

Historic pub transforms into multi-level dining and entertainment destination, creating 15 new jobs

A beloved Cork institution has been given new life as Clancy’s officially reopened following an extensive renovation that has transformed the venue into a four-story entertainment complex.

The former traditional pub has been completely reimagined as a premium destination featuring four distinct experiences under one roof. Owner Paul Montgomery has collaborated with Diageo to create Arthur’s Bar @ Clancy’s, a ground-floor space dedicated to the perfect Guinness experience for Cork’s beer enthusiasts.

Fine Dining Meets Rooftop Views

The transformation includes 1824 @ Clancy’s, a first-floor restaurant showcasing contemporary Irish cuisine, while cocktail aficionados can explore the venue’s dedicated mixology lab featuring premium drinks and craft cocktails.

Perhaps most striking is the new Sky Bar @ Clancy’s, a rooftop party destination offering panoramic views across Cork city. The elevated space promises to become the city’s newest hotspot for those seeking atmosphere with their evening entertainment.

Economic Impact

The ambitious renovation has created 15 new employment opportunities in the local hospitality sector, demonstrating the venue’s commitment to the Cork community.

“We’ve taken Clancy’s long legacy and built something exciting and future-facing,” Montgomery explained. “From the new Guinness experience at Arthur’s Bar to the food offering at 1824 and a party atmosphere to raise the rooftop at Sky Bar, this is a venue where locals and visitors alike can come to enjoy great taste, storytelling and Cork hospitality at its best.”

The reopening marks a significant investment in Cork’s nightlife and dining scene, with the venue positioned to attract both longtime patrons familiar with Clancy’s history and new visitors drawn to its expanded offerings.
