First and foremost, I love ska. I’m not just a casual “I love The Specials” type of fan, which is understandable because we all love them, right? Since the mid-70s, I have listened to and followed hundreds of ska bands, including many obscure Trojan sounds. For several years, I was in a scooter club in England, where ska, reggae, and rocksteady were ingrained in our souls.
The upcoming Cork Ska & Reggae Festival 2024 is absolutely amazing, AND FREE and we can’t wait to see the gigs. The challenge will be getting to all of them. We will be posting more regularly on our page to support the bands, as it’s tough for musicians to make money in the Spotify era. As a fan, I want to help bring the most support to these bands.
