Fred Zeppelins is a legendary and enduring rock bar and live music venue in the heart of Cork City, established in 1997 on a site that has continuously operated as a pub since 1825. Known for being one of the city’s liveliest spots, it offers an electric and alternative atmosphere with a classic, “old world feel,” visible in its slate floor, stone walls, and interiors covered in gig posters from around the world. The bar is a central hub for Cork’s rock, metal, and indie communities, playing an eclectic mix of music that includes Alternative Rock, Metal, Indie, Ska, and Punk.
Beyond its main bar, Fred Zeppelins operates a small-capacity upstairs venue famous for supporting up-and-coming acts and hosting both local and international Heavy Metal and Hard Rock bands. They are known for a wide selection of drinks, including craft beers from local breweries and specialty cocktails and shots, such as their popular signature “Super Special with Fred Absinthe.” The venue also hosts regular community events, such as a weekly Singer-Songwriter Open Mic and a Reuseabl-ALT pop-up shop featuring vintage and alternative clothing, underscoring its role as a key cultural space on Parliament Street.
